“Everybody can be great…because anybody can serve.
You don’t have to have a college degree to serve.
You don’t have to make your subject and verb agree to serve.
You only need a heart full of grace. A soul generated by love.”
~ Martin Luther King Jr.
The scriptures give us this amazing picture of our church communities as bodies, where each person is a part of the body.
Because God has given each one of us gifts “differing according to the grace given to us” (Romans 12:6), we find our meaning and purpose in life not by having someone else’s gift, or using our gifts for ourselves, but my functioning as a part of the body.
Using your gifts in church is a great way to find meaning, to be connected together, and to contribute to the life of your church.
These are just a few ways you can do that at CRAVE:
Music Team
Music is such a key element of our worship services at Crave. It is a time to reflect, connect and respond to a message from the service, what God is doing in our weeks or the emotions of our hearts. We offer God praise and prayer and place ourselves in vulnerability, both before God and those gathered with us.
Those who want to serve in music lead the congregation through this medium, doing more than playing instruments or singing songs, we provide space for God to work in our congregation through his spirit, the lyrics and the music that we make.
If you would like to be involved in this ministry let us know how you feel you could be involved, whether you have played/sung much before or not, by sending us an email.

Movers and Shakers Team
We meet at church early on Sundays to make sure that the worship space is a welcoming space for everybody, and that if we’re going to worship God that we do it with excellence.
The Movers and Shakers team is a really fun team to belong to, and we’d encourage you to try it out. You can volunteer anything from once every few months to weekly.

Production Team
The Production team makes sure that the worship services run smoothly and sound great by managing the Audio and visual components. This includes live audio mixing, recording, graphics and post production.

Hospitality
The main purpose of the Hospitality Ministry is to arouse that warm, fuzzy feeling that people get when their physical desires are attended to.
What we do is to create an atmosphere of generosity and giving that arouses an expectation of spiritual generosity as well. The obvious way we do this is by providing refreshments before and after the services and, of course, cleaning up after our collective selves.
The Hospitality Ministry is a natural extension of our outreach at Waterloo, called The Favour. In this ‘drop-in’ outreach we have always offered food and refreshment as a background to the social and spiritual interaction that takes place. Sometimes we have actually fed the hungry.
If you think you have a desire and abilities that could help in these purposes please make contact and discuss it with us.
Pastoral Care and Teaching
We need people who are trusted and experienced, and who are able to be concerned, present and prayerful with people who connect to our community. This can look like making regular contact, teaching or leading a Bible Study, and also leading parts of the CRAVE worship service like prayer, preaching and serving communion.

Admin and Governance
This is the fun job (cue laughter). People who are highly trusted, and have proved themselves within CRAVE, and who we know well can step up into the extremely important role of governance by joining the Core Team. The job is about discerning God’s will for the vision and the future of our church and implementing it! It looks like coming to monthly meetings and discussing issues prayerfully to decide how to administer the church God has entrusted to our stewardship, communicating it well with our congregation, and then implementing the decisions we make.
